this subpage is dedicated to the halloweens of my childhood, and attempting to revive that super special spooky feeling i would get when the teachers would start putting up the halloween decorations and my parents would get the plastic pumpkins out of the attic, and we would go down to the fancy neighborhood to trick or treat where all of the houses had elaborate decorations and this one family always built a haunted house walkthrough in their garage out of cardboard boxes
i made this page partly because i have noticed a very sharp decline in online spaces for kids on the internet, as you probably have too. and i think a lot of my 2000s childhood halloween memories are deeply rooted in awesome kid-oriented halloween content that i would find on the web, created with love and care for young people to have fun in a safe environment. that is why i chose the ben & jerrys halloween site static recreation to be the very first thing you see when you enter the site: discovering it and exploring that website every year from 2008-2012 defined my halloweens, and now that site is like 90% lost media. it represents everything i hope to capture in making this page - a revival and preservation of an online halloween safe space.
i don't actually expect this site to have a target audience of young children like the sites i hope to evoke, but i hope this site inspires you to let your inner child run free this halloween, random netizen!
