Honeydew was my first island and will forever be my beloved.
The final design for this island came to me because I would get super inspired by all of the ACNH pinterest and instagrammers with really cool aesthetic island themes but I could not settle on one for myself. So I thought: why choose one theme when I can do four??
Honeydew is split into 4 mini-islands: city on the bottom left, jungle on the bottom right, forest on the top left, and desert on the top right. Honestly I am so proud of this idea and this island will probably by my favorite forever.
The city area is the most crowded (and laggy lol) and where pretty much everything service-wise lives. Nooks Cranny, Able Sisters, and Resident Services is here. So are Wendy, Olivia, and Agnes!
The forest area is home to Fang and Dom, plus a cute little farm!! Not pictured but there is also a neat little forced perspecive area that I am rather proud of.
The desert area is my personal favorite. Home to Mitzi, Coco, and Sasha. I had to cover this entire quarter with sand one tile at a time and I thought I was going to lose my mind.
The jungle area is home to me, Raymond, and Gayle, as well as the museum! I was going for a lost-ruins sort of vibe here. I am also very proud of my fossil use in this area.
I used to have an Animal Crossing Instagram where I posted about Honeydew that I no longer use but it's still up if you're interested! It's @achoneyhorizons. Fun fact!! the DA I posted on this instagram got reposted to pinterest without my permission and got a bajillion views. A lot of people criticize this island for being too crowded, which it is. What can I say, I <3 maximalism.
I miss this island. I nominate Agnes to be Resident Representative in my absence.
The final design of Honeydew is the third time I completely flattened and redid the island - Honeydew 3.0, if you will. Below is a little sneek peek at Honeydew 1.0 and 2.0! I think part of what made this island so special is how much you can see my ideas & creativity flourish over time.
I didn't have a specific "theme" with this island, but it kind of came out with a bit of a European vibe IMO, with the shrub-lined cobbled streets and little cafe tables overlooking the canals. Half of the island was a little town plaza and the other half was a woodsy forest, with a farm, cemetery, and picnic area. Although this iteration of the island wasn't terribly aesthetic, I miss it a lot, and there were a lot of little areas I hope to return to with Tuesday. My favorite is the path through the T-Rex fossil.
This was my very first stab at decorating and didn't last terribly long. I tried a bit of a tropical Mediterranean vibe. The map below is just one screenshot of it, since this version of the island was kind of in flux & being terraformed constantly.
