About the island

Welcome to Tuesday! For this island, the name of the game is whimsy and discovery and quirky theming. I am very delighted by the fuckass map I chose where resident services is literally 4 tiles away from the airport, it's going to be really fun to play on this island.

With Julep, I think part of my folly came from approaching the island with a design goal, which caused me to focus more on the island aesthetics than the villagers & gameplay. With Tuesday, my #1 goal is to get back to basics and attempt to recapture the magic of my early Honeydew days through minimal planning and idea discovery as I play.

Below is a list of the few island goals I already have going in:

  • My theme idea is to make a hodgepodge of areas inspired by nostalgic locations from my childhood. I don't have a set plan, I kind of just want to mash ideas together as I have them to make something chaotic and unique!
    • I have ideas already for a windmill area/farm, a seaside village, and a large lake.
  • Play every single holiday & get all the items.
  • I want a kangaroo villager because I think the babies are cute and I've never had one.
    • I also want a sheep villager because they are my favorite villager species and I always have to have a sheep.

Tuesday Diaries

Since I am playing this island at the same time as I am publishing this shrine, I thought it'd be super fun to have a little diary where I can chat about the everyday goings on on the island!

unfortunately, i think i have come to the conclusion that i need to move the lake

i've been very frustrated the past few days over how little space i have behind the lake, and i recently visited the dream address Kittyville (DA-1072-5404-0164) which has a lake very up close to the resident services which i really enjoyed. when i'm brainstorming terraforming i've been kind of working around the lake since its so big and difficult to move, but i think that if my problem is no space behind the lake and i like the look of a lake right next to resident services... sigh. guess i'm moving the lake

here is an edit i slapped together of where i want to move it and what my terraforming plans will be. this means demolishing an inclide and the bridge to shep's island which i am a little annoyed about but sacrifices must be made. also means undoing the very cute nooks cranny plan i JUST made but i'll just remake it somewhere else. sigh

in other island news, i think that miss repressed gay Peanut has eyes for Deena, i caught her over at Deena's house this morning. i will be watching these two

once again, we say goodbye to a villager to welcome in someone new: Bertha has moved out and Deena has moved in! Deena was once again a campsite villager who i was utterly charmed by, but i told myself that i would only take her in exchange for someone with the same personality as her since i don't want a total imbalance, and it was perfect luck that she asked to trade with Bertha. this was a super bittersweet moment since i am at a moment where i adore every single villager i have and letting go of anyone is really sad, but i am willing to embrace the change. welcome to Tuesday, Deena!! she's already super close with Ribbot which is adorable

terraforming update: i've been getting really into it and i really love my island progress!!! i finished building the farm area, all that's left is decoration which i am not in a terrible hurry to do. my new project here is figuring out where the houses near the farm will go, since this area behind the lake is a little cramped (curse you giant lake why did i do that)(but i love the lake so much so guess i'll suffer), so i've been in brainstorm mode in that area. i want a cute neighborhood up on the cliff with hopefully some pretty terraforming surrounding the waterfall-top river, but none of my test drives have really spoken to me yet.

i also worked on the nook's cranny area which i am very excited about!! i have built a cliff directly behind it that emulates the roof, so it looks like you can climb on the roof of nook's cranny! inspired by @C4nn4Cr0ss1ng on facebook

i've been struggling with what to do with the area directly to the right of nook's since it overlooks the lake and no matter what i do it doesn't feel like it takes good enough advantage of the view. idk how to describe it, it just feels like i haven't found a way to really make the lake view pop yet. it's on my ponder to-do list :p

also happy late b-day shari

happy belated Bunny Day, the most controversial animal crossing day of the year! i actually really enjoy bunny day, i looove the egg items and how colorful they are. i worked my ass off to get every single DIY for this holiday and actually completed it 100% for the first time ever since i started playing acnh!! here are my shitty screenshots of the holiday because i forgot to be photogenic

i have also finally been infected by the decorating bug and have gotten really excited about my terraforming projects!! i moved my house and started picking away at a little neighborhood, but my big project right now is overhauling my entire back half of the island. i had already completely terraformed this area into a vague shape of how i was envisioning it: i built this farm area on the right side (which is just a direct copy of @daisy bug on pinterest's farm because i just love it so much), with a windmill area to the right and an ocean overlook by my secret beach, but i was really really not loving it. sooo, i decided that i am gonna move my entire farm area to the left side of my island instead and make a ground-floor level street area in the back of the island instead. i feel like making the back of the island flat along the water is a design choice i never really go for but i love the look of and wanted to try!!

below is my image board with some decorating inspo:

i want the farm to slope down into a windmill wheat farm, with the road on the very back of the island along the rocks!! the road will eventually lead to my secret beach before having inclines up!

i am excited to finally have some inspiration to work, since i knew vaguely what i wanted with the previous iteration of this build but didn't really have a plan, so i was just building with vague purpose and then hating it. now i have to spend so many bells to demolish all of my inclines and rebuild them but its worth it. stay tuned for updates!!

new villager again! so soon!! this time a campsite villager, we got Ribbot!! honestly part of my re-enchantment with animal crossing via this island has been acting on impulses to take random villagers who normally wouldn't interest me, and i was charmed by Ribbot because he is one of my coworker's favorite villagers so i pestered him until he moved to my island!! he is replacing Erik, who i find cute but honestly have not found very interesting (sorry Erik fans out there, I know he is popular). actually this is kind of case in point for my "just take anybody" playstyle i'm gravitating towards, since Erik was the first villager i really did an extended hunt to find and i took him because he's cute and popular but not because i actually liked him as a character, and that didn't really change and now he is being traded away for Ribbot. i also am happy to get a new jock on the island, i like playing with a balanced personality roster and my island once again has all 8.

Bunny Day on Sunday!! i will update with pics, i find bunny day really charming and i love the egg DIY items so i am excited!!

we're saying goodbye to another villager :') Klaus has officially moved out of Tuesday, which I am actually pretty sad about because i really like Klaus. but he asked to leave and i knew i didn't want to keep him forever and i'm ready for some change so i let him go. i will miss you, Klaus.

i went on a villager hunt and found... Bluebear!! i am pretty excited about her, i actually agonized for a long time about taking her when i found her. she has never ever been a dreamy on my radar but when i found her i could just envision her on the island so clearly. i want to get to know her and grow to love a villager i normally wouldn't consider! i went into this hunt pretty one-track-Paula-minded so it was kind of a hard decision to put off finding Paula for another day and take Bluebear, but i think she's just a perfect fit for this island so i am happy she's coming!!

in island development news, i have kind of stalled on terraforming so not much to report. i have a lot of inspirations for what i want but have hit a bit of a creative block in actually executing it, so i am letting some ideas marinate and mostly ignoring terraforming right now. i'm mostly just playing my dailies in between my evil insane work schedule so hopefully once i get some rest in a few weeks i will actually start having ideas and motivation!

i've been terraforming like CRAZY!! lake lake lake lake

is it too big? maybe. we'll see how it feels as i develop more of the island

in other island news, Shep and Shari are dating. They sat together by the lake for over an hour and had 2 conversations that ended in one of them happy so, yay for them! not the couple i would have predicted but i think they are very cute together.

i am also suspecting that something might be happening between Poppy and Simon. I found Poppy at Simon's house the other day, and she also brought him up in conversation all on her own. both of these times they've had very complimentary sweet things to say about each other, so maaaaybe those two are getting pretty close! we'll see!

also Peanut lesbian moment.

SHEP 🔥🔥🔥 one dreamy down!!!

Goose asked to move out, which i wasn't expecting so soon but he is very average so i let him go.

i've decided my current #1 dreamy for this island is Paula. I've been feeling really inspired by memories i have of a music festival my parents would take me to every year which was VERY hippie, and i would love to lean into the hippie vibe for this island's theme!

now it's time to terraform. it feels a little intimidating i don't know where to start.

here's a video of me waking up from a dream address and walking away from my switch for like 30 seconds, and while i wasn't paying attention Goose came into my house and jumpscared the shit out of me. i thought he just teleported in.

Feb 27, 2026

i went on a a villager hunt bender to fill those final 4 plots! i was very eager, i love meeting new villagers. full disclosure, i picked up some NMT from a treasure island so i could hunt for as long as i want. i know it's cheating or whatever but i don't really feel like being stressed about nook miles, especially since i plan on spending them on fencing & furniture n stuff. so i am cheating when it comes to tickets because villager hunting is fun.

anyway it hardly mattered becuase i had insane luck. i found Poppy on my 2nd ticket, Tom on my 5th, and Astrid on my 7th! having Poppy really makes me want to also hunt for Pecan now, i headcanon them as sisters. i am very excited about Tom, i had terrible luck finding kittycats on Julep and had serious withdrawals. he's a cat villager i've barely seen so i am interested in getting to know him! i am also very excited about Astrid, like i said above i've never had a kangaroo and she and her baby are so cute!! i'm so happy i found her.

i felt like being more picky for my final villager and i eventually found Erik! I almost took Eloise on this hunt but ultimately decided to pass on her, but i kind of wish i had taken her. if i see her again in the future i'll take her (also i only realized today that Eloise is snooty... this whole time i thought she was peppy). i also saw Cookie my bestie from Julep!! i was never gonna take her bc i don't want any repeats but i am very happy to see her. i also passed on Tiansheng who i love but i just don't really want another monkey right now.

Feb 24, 2026

first campsite villager today!! i got Klaus, who i am very pleased with. they reeeeally missed the opportunity to make his birthday march 15th though.

Feb 21, 2026

hi welcome to Tuesday Diaries!! homefully i will remember to share island gossip and goings-on here.

got my first 3 additional plots and went of the first villager hunt of the island today. i used a whopping 5 NMT because I am not exactly swimming in nook miles rn so i bought 3 plus the free ones from Tom Nook & Shari (thank u shari bestie). ok the very first villager i found was Truffles and i did not take her but... honestly guys the more i think about her the more i regret not taking her. lets not kid ourselves she is ugly but there is something so compelling about ugly peppy villagers that i just cannot help but think that she is such an interesting and cool character and i should have taken her. oh well. i also passed on Spork (blegh) and Norma (who is totally fine but honestly she looks like she would be such a boring girl like sorry norma but you don't seem like you have a personality).

I ended up taking Bertha as my normal who i have no opinion of rn but i think i will grow to like her!! i do not have a good track record with hippo villagers (shoutout my ENEMY Bubbles) so hopefully i can change that. i also took Peanut as my peppy, and honestly i am not sure if i like her yet. i let the last plot autofill and got Simon who i am stoked about because i love Simon, total luck of the draw.
